DIY Homemade Facial Moisturizer for Oily and Acne Prone Skin

Acne prone skin is the most sensitive and most problematic to deal with. I have dealt with it for almost 10 years of my life. After I gained some knowledge about the right skincare, I got a solution for this stubborn problem of mine. I started realizing how chemical loaded products can aggravate your acne, pimples and other skin problems rather than doing any good which we actually use it for. I started using organic and good quality products since then or the one which are all natural and homemade.

Homemade Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin

Today I have got for you this secret recipe of my homemade diy moisturizer for my acne prone skin, which finally helped me in overcoming my acne and pimples. I also used few other natural products along with this diy moisturizing face cream, about which I will mention in other posts but diy moisturizer played a big role in removing my acne giving me clear flawless skin.

Few years back it was very difficult to find an oil free moisturizer, though today there are tons of them. So I kept on trying different things until I discovered this recipe and since then it remains my all time favorite moisturizing cream for my acne prone sensitive skin.

Ingredients Required to make DIY Moisturizer

Aloe Vera Gel – 2 tbsp.
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – 1 tbsp.
Tea Tree Essential Oil – 1 – 2 drops.
Lavender oil – 2-3 drops.
Any organic oil free moisturizer as base – 1 tbsp. (optional)
Empty jar.

Homemade Natural Mosituzer for Acne and Pimples

Method of Making DIY Facial Cream for Acne Prone Skin.

Take a clean bowl and add the required quantity of aloe vera gel to it. Now add extra virgin Coconut Oil and mix it very nicely till the 2 ingredients combine nicely to form a smooth consistency. Now add both the  essential oils to the mixture and stir. You can reduce or even skip Tea Tree oil if you have very sensitive skin since it might react on super sensitive skin making it red and itchy. Lavender oil is for soothing effect and tea tree to keep acne and any sort of infection at bay.

Diy Moisturizer for Oily Skin

Now add your oil free moisturizer to this or any suitable cream of your choice which suits you. Though this step is purely optional but would make a nice creamy base for your homemade moisturizer which otherwise looks like a jelly and too shiny. Making your own cream is a little long and a messy process, so thought it’s better to use any organic gentle cream which suits your skin.

DIY Natural Acne Cream

You might say that using a market cream in a homemade product does not make sense. I know but this step is all optional but those who want their diy to look creamy like the market creams, so a little quantity of the same would do the trick. And in every way it would be far better than the market one since it has wonder ingredients like aloe Vera gel, coconut oil tea tree oil and lavender oil to work on your problematic acne prone skin. You can also add Jojoba oil instead of Tea Tree for acne and pimples if your skin is sensitive since Tea Tree Oil is little strong.

Mix all the ingredients nicely and your own customized moisturizer is ready. I used the word customized because you can increase or decrease the quantity and can replace any essential oil with the one as per your skin type.

DIY Acne Pimple Cream

Use this homemade diy moisturizer daily twice on your oily acne prone skin like any other regular cream in the morning and at night before sleeping. In the morning apply it after cleansing your face and wait for few seconds to let it dry and then proceed with your makeup and other stuff.

I hope you like this all natural organic homemade diy moisturizer. Do try it and use it regularly on your skin to see the visible results. People with acne prone and oily skin can use it without a second thought. It would work great even on normal skin.  Dry skin beauties can also try since it has coconut oil in it but a specific post for them would be coming soon. But yes people with acne prone skin, make sure to use extra virgin coconut oil since regular one can actually clog your pores thus aggravating the acne making them worse. Do try and leave your queries below if any.

Extra Tips:

Skin Tea Tree Oil if you have sensitive skin.
Use only virgin coconut oil on acne prone skin.
An extra layer of coconut oil could be added for dry skin beauties.
